The trees of Twinklemist are in danger and only Ella can help. Giant creatures called Grublers are eating all the tree roots, and the land is slowly dying. Even worse, Lady Rye, the leader of Scoop’s people, has lost her magical gem that she believes gives her the courage to lead. Without it, how can she stop the Grublers?
Ella and Scoop travel to the City of Cavar to help Lady Rye find her bravery again. Along the way, they meet Barry and Cade, the city’s guards, and Scoop’s determined little brother Skrim, who has an important message. Together they will face tricky challenges, funny mishaps, and a threat that could destroy all the trees in Twinklemist. Will Ella save the trees? Can Lady Rye find her courage? Grubs are the main food for everyone down there, and the Grub Wranglers Crew is famous for having the juiciest, most delicious grubs in all of Twinklemist. Scoop lives with his mother and brother in a small but cozy home, though with his busy schedule, he’s rarely there. One day, while heading home from Grubleton, he stumbled upon a lost girl in the tunnels of Twinklemist. Little did he know, that lost girl would soon become his very best friend.

Skrim lives with his brother and mother in a cozy home tucked deep inside the busy city of Cavar. He spends most of his days racing through the streets, digging in hidden corners, and hunting for sparkling gems buried in the ground. Skrim and Scoop love playing with their pet Bumpaleez. These tiny creatures have big, bright eyes and roll across the floor wherever they want to go. Dee doesn’t care much for the Bumpaleez because they nibble on her furniture and make her jump when they zip past her feet.
